Overview

The tour starts by being picked up from your hotel location. You then head to the Stavanger ferry station or Lauvvik ferry station and take the ferry across the fjord. From the other side, it is a short drive to Preikestolen Lodge, the starting point for the hike. The hike up will take you between 2 and 3 hours. Once at Pulpit Rock, there is time to spend enjoying the view, the beautiful nature and most likely taking photos. You can also enjoy your packed lunch, beverages, and some snacks here. The hike back will likely also take 2 to 3 hours, and expect to arrive back in Stavanger around 3.00-4.00pm.

In one of Europe’s most northern countries, Norway, you’ll find a remarkable natural attraction that routinely gives people the feeling of being at the top of the world both literally and metaphorically: Preikestolen or Pulpit Rock. Preikestolen, commonly referred to as Pulpit Rock in English, is a notably steep cliff that extends 604 metres above the scenic Lysefjord.
