Overview

Explore Bronte Country and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, including the West Yorkshire Pennine Village of Haworth and so much more! Your first stop will be at the Bingley Five-Rise Locks, the highest staircase lock in the UK, and the most spectacular feature of the Leeds and Liverpool canal. You'll then make your way to the highlight destination of the trip; Haworth. Situated on the edge of the rugged Pennine Moors, this is the place where the Bronte family lived and where the sisters wrote their famous novels. Here, you can visit the Bronte Parsonage Museum and the Bronte Memorial Chapel in the nearby church. Head up Penistone Hill for a photo stop to admire the moorland views towards the remote and abandoned farm of Top Withens. Breathe in the fresh air and roam the vast countryside where the Bronte sisters walked to gain inspiration. You'll then travel to the traditional picture postcard Dales village of Linton, where you can admire its stone bridges and limestone falls, before heading further north for an afternoon in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Visit Bolton Abbey and see the ruins of the 12th-century Augustinian monastery in its beautiful riverside setting, or maybe take the stepping stones challenge if you are feeling adventurous!
