We liked Budapest more than Vienna. It has a buzz about it. The bus was comfortable and the audio commentary worked well. Even though it was very cold we enjoyed walking around and the Gluhwein was the best ever. The whole excursion was excellent and would certainly recommend it. Unfortunately we didn’t do the optional boat trip as we were knackered??

Enjoyed the sights of Bucharest, the stop off points were well positioned

Buses were old. Top part had a plastic sheet covering which was really low restricting the view. The commentary on the recording did not point out a lot of the historic buildings as we passed them concentrating on things we had already seen.
Hugh MacDonald, Oct 2025
The tour was pretty average sadly and fell well short of the bus tour we enjoyed in Vienna which was first class
The hop-on hop-off bus tour departs from City Sightseeing stop No. 1, St Stephen's Basilica. The walking tour departs daily at 11:00 a.m. from St Stephen's Basilica (Szent István tér) 1, 1051 Hungary.
Address
Budapest, Hungary
Glorified by Johann Strauss II in one of the most famous waltzes ever written, the blue Danube River runs through the center of Budapest, cutting the city in two parts - Buda and Pest. Not only is it the dividing line, it’s also a vantage point for the best views on magnificent Budapest. If you’re new to the city, there's probably no better way to explore it than by a scenic Danube cruise.
