The 19 State Rooms at the palace are regularly used by the Royal family to entertain guests on their State, ceremonial and official visits to the United Kingdom. These beautifully lavish rooms are open to the Public every summer.
- Changing of the Guard
The Queen’s Foot Guards, with their red tunics and unmistakable bearskin hats, march together with the military band and the Household Cavalry, complete with plumed silver helmets and magnificent horses. You can catch all the action right outside Buckingham Palace or at the Horse Guards Parade.

- due to crowds, uneven surfaces and unavoidable stairs, this tour is not suitable for those with wheelchairs, walking difficulties or large prams/buggys.
- Guided walking tour of the Changing of the Guard ceremony

- for security reasons, the police request that no suitcases (big or small) be brought to the Changing of the Guard ceremony. Please arrange storage for these prior to joining the tour. Handbags and Small Backpacks are welcome and can be brought on the tour
- Stand in the best spots around the Royal Palaces for the best views of the Changing of the Guard ceremony and the Royal Guard.
- Know in advance:
- please arrive 10 minutes before the tour starts to check-in with your tour guide

- this tour requires approximately 2-3 miles of walking. Please wear comfortable walking shoes

- the ceremony can be altered at any time at the discretion of the British Army. In the event of bad weather the British Army may decide to do a 'Wet Change' which is a shortened version of the Changing of the Guard ceremony without any music
