We came to Port Lincoln for the shark cage diving. As we had planned for a free day before going out to the sharks, we booked the Koala Safari with Tour South as it matched our travel philosophy: experiencing wildlife in the wild, not behind glass in a zoo. We were looking to see koalas and kangaroos as nature intended. We booked the Koala Safari at Mikkira Station through Tour South, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the entire trip. We were lucky enough to be the only two guests that day, which meant a completely private tour with our guide Ben, who was absolutely amazing! His knowledge of local wildlife is extraordinary. During the tour he shared fascinating details about their behaviour, and made the whole experience feel personal and unhurried. We saw nearly 40 koalas and numerous kangaroos in their natural habitat. It was everything we had hoped for. Ben also took photos throughout the tour and shared them with us afterward — no extra charge, just a lovely touch that we really appreciated. We genuinely cannot recommend this tour highly enough. If our stay had been longer, we would have absolutely added the Sand Dunes tour to the itinerary as well. Having come for the shark diving, we left with a completely different perspective on the Port Lincoln region. There is so much more here than most visitors realise!

Ben picked us up & brought us back right at the port. He was a great guide. He was able to spot so many Koalas and several Kangaroos & Emus.

Hi mate, Thanks for the 5-star review. We are very fortunate to see all the wildlife in their own habitats. Especially, we can quite often get close to wild koalas. Thanks for joining the trip and choosing to see wildlife in the wild instead of in captivity. Hope you enjoy the cruise to Tassie. Kind regards, Ben

It was amazing to have the shuttle it saved the stress of that and also having a guide way more prepared for all situations that counts for a lot. Seeing him offer water to koalas in high heat was heartwarming too
