Your experience begins with early-morning pickup from your Bavaro or Punta Cana hotel, then a scenic drive inland with your local guide. The first stop is a traditional Dominican plantation, where you’ll meet local farmers and learn how organic methods are used to grow cinnamon, cacao, coffee, and vanilla. Sample fresh coffee or hot chocolate, and browse a small selection of products available to purchase directly from the source.
Continue deeper into the countryside as you travel up a mountain road into the jungle. Arrive at Monkeyland, a five-acre (2-hectare) natural habitat dedicated to the care of squirrel monkeys. Walk through the sanctuary with your guide, observe the monkeys up close, and enjoy the opportunity to watch and feed them in their environment.
Before heading back, visit the botanical garden to see native trees, plants, and flowers. Then, relax on the return drive to your hotel, with transportation taken care of from start to finish.

Had a great experience with the monkeys; we traveled with 3 kids, ages 7, 5 & 2. The coffee and cocao aspect was geared towards older kids/adults. Felt a bit like a sales session. Overall great experience.

Monkeyland was really neat! I felt that the plantation was a bit of sales pitch and I wish we would have learned more about cultivating the plants and processing the beans, etc.

We did the Monkeyland only trip, not one to sugar coat, you get straight into see the Monkeys which was wonderful maybe 1/2hr, standing in a group of about 25 and the Monkeys run wild over you while they give you food to feed them, however you then spend 1hr sitting learning about cocoa and coffee beans and then another 1hr sales pitch for you to buy them, the trip it's self picked up at 7:35 and got back at 13:15, would be brilliant if we had just seen the monkeys without the other bits, dont be fooled they dont have the forest to run free there is an electric fence around them stops that.the surrounding forest is beautiful to see

Loved this. I was picked up at my resort, Amaddo was my guide, the open air truck allowed for fresh air and views and sounds of the small towns and mountains all while Amaddo gave a history lesson while giving us a few laughs. The park we were shown how chocolate is made from plant to product as well as coffee and coconut oil. I found this so interesting. The monkeys were so cute and tiny but are food motivated so if you have no food they leave you fun to watch others reactions when being swamped by these creatures I had the best laughs. I was able to purchase bags of coffee, coca and unrefined sugar to bring home. All in all this was the best part of my trip. Highly recommend.
