A very impressive tour of Kibera. Bramwel was a very honest young man. His English is very good and his commitment to the district where he was born is commendable. It may chafe to book such a tour, but the story must be told through.

This tour of Kibera led by a local gave my husband and I a new perspective and appreciation that Kibera, regardless of the extreme poverty, is a vibrant community with hard working people providing for their families. All the people we met were friendly and happy. Thank you for the amazing walk through Kibera.

We had an very insight filled tour , our guide was Bramwell who was able to explain a lot of things to us as a local who was born in Kibera. He was well known amongst the community and made everything feel as though we weren't intruding. Recommended if you want to see some real life without the rose colored glasses.

Kibera is Africa’s second largest informal settlement after Soweto, South Africa. With an estimated one million inhabitants drawn from across the entire East Africa crowded in a 2.5 sq. KM piece of land, Kibera presents you a unique opportunity to experience the other Kenya that is less talked about but that’s full of promise. Erick, our founder, himself lived in Kibera for sometime as he was trying to get professional foothold and has many relatives still living there. Several prominent international figures and celebrities have visited Kibera over the past few years including President Obama, Ban Ki Moon (former UN Secretary General), Gordon Brown (former British Prime Minister) and Bono amongst others to see for themselves this unique settlement ecosystem. You will have opportunity to also see several UN and NGO projects covering housing (slum upgrading), education and health amongst others currently ongoing in the slum geared toward poverty alleviation.
Our package gives you a special opportunity to understand the local economy and create employment for our professional youth guides from the slums.
