A most amazing tour experience from start to finish. Our tour guide Brenda was extremely knowlegable and helpful. We were so excited when it started to snow while we stopped to wait for our turn to go through the Homer tunnel. This small group experience was personal and very wonderful. Highly recommended.
Carved out by glaciers thousands of years ago. Today, steep rocky mountains covered in native beech forest line the valley. The flat floor of the valley is covered in eye-catching golden tussock grass.
Small tarns on the roadside providing outstanding refelctive views of Earl Mountains.
Board the luxurious Milford Haven and sail through the heart of Milford Sound. Bask in the natural beauty, from cascading waterfalls to towering cliffs, while enjoying onboard amenities and insightful commentary.
Dramatic views od a series of powerful waterfalls. The sheer velocity of water gives and appreciation of how much rainfall the Milford Sound area recieves per annum.
A pull over area where you have a good chance of spotting whio/blue duck and Kea.
At an altitude of 945m above sea level, the tunnel pierces the sheer rock to allow road acces to Milford Sound. The completion of the tunnel in 1953, (1.2km) was an extraordinary achievement.
Take in the superb views of the Hollyford Valley and the Darran and Alisa Mountains.
End of the tour back in Te Anau
