Prague Castle, an ancient symbol of the Czech lands, sits on Castle Hill and proudly overlooks Vltava river, dominating the cityscape of Prague. The castle has been granted numerous honorary titles: not only has it become a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but also the largest castle complex in the world, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
The Vltava River is the longest river in the Czech Republic, starting in the Šumava mountain range in South Bohemia and flows all the way to the middle of Bohemia. The river is 270 miles long and passes through Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, where it covers around 19 miles within the city centre.

Find out about its fascinating history as a place for merchants, rulers, executions, heroes and riots. Old Town Square features buildings from various architectural styles including medieval, Renaissance and gothic styles.
