Overview

Mole poblano is a spicy chocolate sauce that is served over meat. Learn about this Mexican dish during a hands-on cooking class in Puerto Vallarta. Visit a local market to purchase ingredients, including Mexcian cacao and chilies, and learn to make this dish from start to finish with a group of no more than five participants. Then, enjoy the fruits of your labor and take home a jar of your mole.

Definitely an experience to do while in Puerto Vallarta!

patriciabB7512SU, Mar 2025

We learned how to make mole with Zour. She was fantastic! We went to the market to pick up our ingredients, back to the kitchen and all us were very involved in making mole. Zour made chicken and rice and smothered it with the mole we made. So delicious! We even got to bring a jar of paste home.

Martin was a great teacher! So friendly and knowledgeable. Loved that we started the class with a trip to the market for the ingredients. The mole was delicious.

We booked this directly via the Choco Museo website. This was a very interactive and fun experience! In the end you will go hole with your personal batch of mole and the recipe for your future enjoyment. We highly recommend to learn local culture!

A tasty experience

This was an excellent half-day experience. Our instructor took us through a local market to select ingredients, told us stories of growing up in Vallarta, and taught us how to make amazing mole, culminating in a delicious lunch. The instructor kept the atmosphere relaxed, but we worked hard, especially at the molina grinding all of the spices. At the end we each got a jar of the mole we made. We’re looking forward to enjoying many meals to come at home and remembering this fun tour.
