As you stroll through the streets of this magnificent town, you will see the Market Square, a lively place that offers a lot of sights, from the red castle in the square to the monument of Georg Friedrich Handel. Learn all about the Church of Our Lady, a late Gothic church famous for several facts: the resting place of Martin Luther's death mask, for being the place of Handels baptism, and for Bach's consecrated church organ. See the facade of the Handel House, a museum dedicated to the life of the musician Georg Friedrich Handel and to the musical history of the region. The first stop of our Halle adventure will be at the Market Square, a lively place that offers for those who are interested in Halle’s history a lot of sights, from the red castle in the square to the monument of Georg Friedrich Handel. Our guide will share all details of the square and for the four main towers that belong to the market square.
Your next stop will be at the Church of Our Lady, a late Gothic church famous and unique for many reasons: Luther preached there three times and his death mask is safekept here, for Handels baptism, or for the Johann Sebastian Bach consecrated church organ. Our guide will share more of this late gothic church.
Next we will pass the market and its alleyways, for a peek towards it’s renaissance buildings and medieval half-timbered houses.
We are going to see the Handel House next. The Handel House is a museum dedicated to the life of the musician Georg Friedrich Handel and to the music history of the region, with an exhibition of music instruments from the past.
