Your tour begins with morning pickup from your Cusco hotel. Traveling either by private vehicle or by minibus with up to 15 other participants, set out on the scenic journey to the Inca city of Tipon.
Jump out to explore the vast archaeological site, renowned for its elaborate agricultural terraces and water channels, which offer insight into the engineering marvels of the Incas. Make a quick stop in the modern town of Tipon, where you might get chance to see the local delicacy—guinea pig—being cooked up on a spit, then carry on to nearby Oropesa, a small town famed as the ‘bread capital of Peru’.
After enjoying a glimpse of local life in the valleys, continue the short distance to Pikillacta, home to the only pre-Inca archeological site in the Cusco region. Listen as your guide explains its origins, dating back to the ancient Wari culture, and discover their influence on the Incas as you admire the adobe structures and other ruins.
Finally, pay a visit to Andahuaylillas, a magnificent Baroque church renowned for its interior artworks; many sourced from the prestigious the Cusco Religious Art School. As you marvel at the grand interiors, you will understand why it’s been dubbed the ‘Sistine Chapel of the Americas’.
After a busy morning of sightseeing, return to Cusco, making a quick stop in the traditional village of Saylla along the way, where you can grab lunch (own expense)—the local specialty is Cusco fried pork (chicharrones).
On return to Cusco, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

Very nice 5 hours visit. Beautiful, varied, interesting. A good complement to other archeological sites in the Sacred Valley. Luis, the driver and Gary, the guide were perfect.

No lunch is included even though it was stated in the description. No water provided which is standard on tours like this. The guide’s knowledge was poor.

I highly recommend this trip. Our guide was very knowledgeable and welcoming. Everything went according to plan. Great opportunity to see other sites Cusco that are not overrun with tourist. The scenery was beautiful, we learned a lot, and had more exposure to local culture.

I loved this trip, it was a private tour and the guide's name is Alexis. He has a passion for Cusco, Peru and both the prehistoric and historic era. I can highly recommend Machupicchu Latin America and Alexis. I would also like to add, that when I need some practical information, the company answered right away.
The “Sistine Chapel of the Americas”. Andahuaylillas church is situated in a beautiful and quiet plaza, this baroque church is famous for its incredible artwork. Which will show us many beautiful paintings completed by the Cusco Religious (Escuela Cuzqueña).
An elaborate set of terraces and water channels. It is thought to have been used as one of the most important ceremonial center to worship water. The town of Tipon is also known by Cusquenians as the home of the famous typical dish “guinea pig” where all weekends come to enjoy guinea pig on a stick and roast in a clay oven

The only pre-Inca site in Cusco. This amazing and unique adobe pre-Inca complex was built by the Wari culture who once dominated the central highland and coastal regions of Peru. Extensively considered the first culture to make use the agricultural terraces, most of the Inca administrative practices can be traced back to the Wari civilization.
In route we will have a short stop at Oropesa town and taste a special and delicious big bread Known as “Chuta”. Oropesa town is considered as the bread capital of Peru due to having more than forty bakeries, which is the main economy in this town.
