Overview

Make your own way to the pier near Oslo City Hall, and step aboard your handsome wooden sail boat. It’s an evening cruise, so make sure you dress for the chilly evening temperatures. Blankets are available on board if you’re really feeling the cold.

Then, set sail around Oslo Fjord, the glistening body of water that’s flanked by glorious countryside as well as the city sights. Sail past Oslo Opera House and Akershus Fortress, and then meander through the pretty islets that pepper the fjord.

As you cruise, enjoy a tasty snack of shrimps with bread. Then, after three hours on the water, return to the start point where your evening cruise ends.

Stunning scenery and great tour

dmjk2103, Dec 2024

This boat tour was much better than a normal tour as it was on an old sailing ship rather than a modern ferry boat. This made the tour more enjoyable and a more authentic experience. The boat has a small bar/cafe on board so you can enjoy a warm drink whilst on the cold sea. The views on the tour were great. The tour guide was also very informative and funny and the staff were nice.

Lousy

I7806KGjerryc, Dec 2024

WORST CRUISE EVER. Temperature on the ship was arctic and no matter how many people complained, there was no fix. Wisconsin and Minnesota folks wore their coats to the shows it was so cold. Iwrapped myself in a blanket most of the time.

Mini cruise

Norwegian Shrimp Sandwich Cruise

Fallsbiker, Sept 2024

An interesting experience for Americans unfamiliar with the rite of Norwegian shrimp sandwich making. The cruise was pretty standard. In late August, it ended in darkness and seeing the city lights from the fjord was fun. But the best part of the cruise was watching the meticulous way Norwegians peel and stack small shrimp on a mayonnaise coated slice of white bread, top it with dill, mustard, lettuce, and lemon, and then consume it with knife and fork as an open sandwich, or add another slice of bread and eat a sandwich.
