My husband and I did the tour of Durham: Myths and Legends. Despite horrendous rainy weather we both loved the tour. Our guide Fran, was knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming.

I did two tours, one of Hadrian's Wall, and one specially created for me, which followed the life story of a 19th century serial killer (for a book I'm working on). I kept congratulating myself on being smart enough to pick this tour company. The trips werebeautifully researched, fun, and incredibly knowledgeable. The guide, Anna Unger, was thoughtful, smart and just good company. Beautiful country, terrific guide, great experience start to finish.

My wife and I had a wonderful tour around the sights of Durham with Anna today. She was very knowledgeable and helpful in suggesting things for us to do during the remainder of our weekend stay.

Excellent Tour of Durham including the Cathedral with our guide Anna. It was a wet and windy afternoon but that did not distract from a really interesting tour around Durham. Even for some of us who had been to Durham several times we learned a lot and discovered new areas we never knew about.... Great afternoon out.

Begin in Millennium Square and enjoy views of the new developments in the city as well as the introduction story to St. Cuthbert and the beautiful Fenwick Lawson statue in the square itself.
Enter the medieval market square & discover the stories behind this architectual gem with its statues and market hall. If open, we will be able to enter the Victorian Market
On the route leading to Palace Green, enjoy a true experience of medieval Durham with lanes filled with medieval architecture, clues of a bygone past and little snickleways (called vennels in Durham) leading to some extraordinary finds.
In Palace Green, marvel at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Durham Castle & Cathedral and also hear stories of Prince Bishops and your surrounding square...
Take a look at this fabulous castle - not all is as it seems though and your guide will reveal all...
Gaze at this magnificent Romanesque building - one of the largest of its kind. If time allows, you will be able to walk through the cathedral and your local expert can give you some insights during your walkthrough. Feel free to reach out to us if you would like a fully guided tour of the cathedral as part of your tour. Please note the cathedral can close from time to time due to services or special events at short notice.
Take a walk through the beautiful College behind Durham Cathedral - a place of tranquillity and home to the famous Chorister School of Durham Cathedral.
Cross the river Wear on Prebends Bridge - you will be rewarded with some of the best views onto Durham Cathedral (a view even WTM Turner admired).
Enjoy a splendid walk along the riverside of Durham's river Wear, home to some of the best rowing athletes in the country. With any look you will see some training sessions... The views are marvellous onto the cathedral and castle.
Cross yet another bridge on the river Wear - this time it is the 15th Century Framwellgate Bridge leading back into the heart of the city.
