Tour guide really was very knowledgable. We ended up being the only ones on the tour and our guide was able to personalize our tour.
Begin your tour at the Mirabell Gardens, a Baroque masterpiece with geometric flowerbeds, statues, and the Pegasus Fountain. From here, enjoy a scenic view of Hohensalzburg Fortress across the Salzach River—a perfect photo opportunity.
Walk to Mozartplatz, home to the statue of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, surrounded by classic Baroque architecture. Hear stories of Salzburg’s musical genius and his early life in the city.
Stroll down Getreidegasse, Salzburg’s famous shopping street, known for its wrought iron guild signs and historical charm. Pass by Mozart’s Birthplace (No. 9 Getreidegasse).
Next, arrive at Residenzplatz, the city’s grand square surrounded by Baroque buildings. Admire the Salzburg Cathedral, a masterpiece of 17th-century Baroque architecture, where Mozart once played the organ.
Continue to Kapitelplatz, a historic square with modern art installations like the Sphaera sculpture, and often featuring street performers and lively cultural scenes.
Conclude your tour with a view of the Hohensalzburg Fortress, perched atop the hill overlooking the Old Town. Walking the streets beneath gives stunning city panoramas.
