Going Nuclear

RobertoSolo, Jan 2025

An interesting look into a bunker that would’ve been used during a nuclear attack. Strangely cosy at times and interesting to walk around and experience.

Worth seeing

Culture14749125554, Oct 2024

An impressive experience where you can get a little sense of what must have happened back then. I wouldn't recommend it to people with claustrophobia. All in all very interesting

Experience to try.

Dino S, Aug 2024

Experience that I Recommendation to try to everyone, and especially to young people, to have a small idea of what all those people who lived through the period of World War II and its bombing of citizenship felt. You can choose to be accompanied by a Guide or without, but what you see is quite clear and explicit, I have done without it. At the entrance the staff provides a map of the bunker and explains the most salient things (in English). Many corridors with many rooms used for various uses, such as the kitchen, the telecommunications room, a small library with books and newspapers of the time, several rooms that served as moments of aggregation, some others a little less (the suicide room). A lot of material from the present time, some other fairly faithfully reconstructed, including the mannequins. Photographs and even touching objects are allowed, but I did not understand why they do not want to make videos. Throughout the route you are accompanied by background music and the rumor of military propaganda, which added to the smell of damp makes this visit a bit mysterious. The ticket price is definitely worth the visit.

Fabtastic! Staff: trash!

347vane, Jun 2024

Was a cool experience. We got there at half past 11 and were sent away. They weren't open and had to come back in an hour. When we came back she sent us away again. We had to come back in half an hour. After we told them that we had already been sent away once and already had tickets, we were allowed to walk around independently. Apparently it was too much trouble to arrange a tour for us. Really cool to have been there! The woman's story on TV gives a clear picture of what it was like to take shelter. The location: 5 stars! Organization: 1 star.

Itinerary

  • 10-Z bunker Brno

At the entrance, you will receive a map of the labyrinth and your goal is to find your way out. On the way you will learn the stories of people affiliated with the fallout shelter in images and on projectors.

On hidden QR codes you will find videos with additional materials, and all areas of 10-Z have Wi-Fi. While touring the exhibit, you will walk through the most interesting parts of the shelter (diesel generator, filtration room, PBX telephone switchboard), and you will see the Polášek functionalist tables from the New Town Hall, which were forgotten in the shelter and which have been used by Adolf Hitler and all communist presidents while they have visited Brno Town Hall.

The exhibition includes the door from the “cell of death” of the former Regional Prison at Cejl in Brno, where persons sentenced to death during WWII and Stalinism carved out their messages before facing capital punishment.

Audiovisual technology is installed featuring special exhibits affiliated with the city and the region. At the end of the exhibit, visitors will be able to rest a while in the Milk Bar of Marcel Ihnačák.
