Overview
Your small-group tasting tour kicks off in downtown Ljubljana in front of the tourist information center. Meet your expert guide, who will serve as your culinary docent for the day, and your fellow diners, then set off for your first course. This often-overlooked country will surprise you with its diverse—and delicious—traditional specialties. Expect plenty of sausages, cured meats, local vegetables, and burek (meat wrapped in flaky phyllo dough).
Admire the Baroque-era and art deco architecture designed by Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik, as well as the charming cobblestone streets, as you walk from restaurant to street food stand and cafe. Listen as your guide explains how the dishes are made and mingle with the local restaurant staff. Sip four Slovenian wines for a truly local dining experience.
As the tour comes to an end, you’ll be satiated and inspired, having sampled nine dishes total and ambled through the beautiful streets. As you bid farewell to your guide, continue exploring Ljubljana on your own.

Perfect introduction to Ljubljana

Our guide was wonderful, genuine, and friendly. He provided the perfect blend of interesting facts on the history and culture of Ljubljana in a fun way. Our group was very social and the food and drinks were great. Only thing I would change is skipping the fried chicken as this dish is not what I would consider “traditional” and can be found in the US. The quality of all the food was great however and the soup and Carniolian sausage were a welcome warm treat after walking in the cold. This was a great way to get introduced to the city and I would definitely recommend.
