Great tour with wonderful temples and shrines. A welcome break from busy Tokyo. Can I highly recommend. Kenji was a lovely host, very knowledgable, learned a lot about Japanese culture and tradition (plus some local delicacies as an add-on).

There are many shrines to see in Kamakura and it is a beautiful walk around the town. The plum trees have started to flower and the grounds of the sacred sites are pretty and peaceful. It’s only 50 minutes from Tokyo, easy to get to and definitely worth the trip. Our guide was a local who shared his experience getting married at the shrine.

It was founded in the latter half of the 11th century as the guardian deity of the Minamoto clan. Since then, it has become the guardian deity of the Kamakura samurai.
