Itinerary

  • Highland Games

The Highland Games are renowned the world over as a test of strength between Clans. These athletic contests date back over 900 years and the Games are a fantastic spectacle where you’ll see Highland dancing, pipe band displays, hammer throwing, tug-of-war and caber tossing.  We have created a range of day tours based around these spectacular cultural events that include the best of our beautiful landscape. Each has its own local charm and character. Meet at 7:30AM for the Braemear Gathering and 8:00 for all of the other games,  then leave Edinburgh and travel to the heart of our country to discover picturesque towns or villages. Spend the day mingling with the locals, admiring traditional Highland Dress and trying local specialities before arriving in Edinburgh at 8:30pm from the Braemar Gathering 5.45pm from the Highland Games. The drop-off location, where we say our good-byes, is a city- centre location. Our programme includes a visit to the world famous Braemar Gathering attended by members of the Royal Family since Queen Victoria first attended in 1848. (*Braemar Gathering departs at 08.00am and returns at approximately at 8.30pm) 2025Highland Games ScheduleSunday        25th of May                 Blair Atholl GamesSunday          8th of June                Glamis Saturday       5th of July                  LussSunday         3rd of August             Bridge of AllanSunday       17th of August             Crieff Saturday       6th of September      Braemar Gathering   ( Meet at 7:30am) Saturday     13th of September  Pitlochery  Meet at Radical Travel Sales Office on 60 High Street (The Royal Mile) EH1 1TB.
