This was such a fun tour. We got the history of Aix and such good food samples. The macarons were unlike anything we had ever tasted and just incredible. Also loved the Madelines and all the flavors. Truffle honey has changed the way we eat cheese and the selection of cheeses was so varied and yummy. It was such a great way to see Aix and Ted was a very patient and kind guide with all of our questions and we learned so much. Highly recommend!!

He never showed up. Waited at his spot 30 minutes. Getting full refund from Viator. Very disappointed

Hi Thomas, My sincere apologies. As I said in my text to you the next day, there was a scheduling snafu and for some reason you were not on my schedule. After offering to do the tour at another time and you declining, I notified Viator to refund you immediately. I highly recommend that you contact your guide directly on Viator if you encounter any issues in the future because, in this case, I live 5 minutes away and would have rushed right over. Again, my sincerest apologies and I hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Provence.

First of all we (2 couples from California) booked this tour as a private tour that was to begin at 5 pm. We had traveled by train from Paris that day and had not dined in anticipation of the food tour. Earlier in the day we received a message from Edouard that the time was changed to 6 pm and we reluctantly agreed to the new time. Upon meeting Edouard at 6 pm he advised us that he had changed the time because another couple wanted to join the tour but then had cancelled at the last minute! Not a good first impression! Edouard was very friendly and engaging during the tour but constantly moved away from us to smoke which was very annoying. We visited the Puyricard chocolate store where we each had 1 piece of chocolate. We then had a macaron from Caroline’s, a delicious madeleine from Christophe's and pralines from Monsieur Praline Aix en Provence. We then visited Epicerie aux Huiles and tasted regional olive oils. Lastly, Edourd took us to Le Vieux tonneau where the 5 of us shared 2 appetizers, a small charcuterie board, and a bottle of red wine. The tour was advertised as ’The 10 Tastings of Aix en Provence’ for which we paid $105 per person. For that price we each had; 1 piece of chocolate, 1 macaron, 1 madeleine, 4 pralines, and 3 olive oils. I guess that’s 10 tastings, but we expected a lot more for $105 per person. We would not recommend this tour as it was way over priced.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. My foodie tour always starts at 6 pm and costs $75/person, not $105 (from which Viator deducts their own fee of approximately $30). As indicated, I provide 10 tastings, not a full course dinner. However, if you were still hungry, I would have been happy to order some more food at the wine bar. My apologies that you were not satisfied with the tour and I hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Provence.

This tour was great! Suburb way to learn a bit about local specialities as well as gaining knowledge of the city and France in general. Products at each stop were well researched and Ted had a good rapport with staff at each shop which created a genial atmosphere. Ted was affable and well informed regarding a range of topics. His experiences living in Paris and Boston were particularly useful in contrasting anything from baguettes to taxation. We would happily join any of his tours in Aix!
