Cancelled without notice

Don’t like to leave negative feedback but just was cancelled only after I chased to confirm the booking. Paid well in advance and now told (again only because I chased the captain) that the boat needed repairs. There are plenty of people who have good reviews so would just advise that frequent and proactive communication is important — and not a strength of the company.

This excursion was not what they promised me when i booked it. There’s no yacht. It’s a sailboat, a tiny one. There was no way this boat could hold 7 people safely. Plus the captain & the single man who was supposed to be the crew. The pictures did not match. There was no open bar. Food was prepared in front of us and wasn’t clean. The person i talked to before the excursion wasn’t even there. No life jackets . Couldn’t get off the boat to even enjoy the beach because the boat docked so far out. Ricky was nice, but this was not a 1,800 excursion at all!!

Unfortunate you booked through viator. Which means I never had the opportunity to speak with you directly until after the booking is made. After the booking process is done we were able to communicate. I explained clearly what boat was available. A 39’ sailboat three feet shorter than our yacht, which I explained wasn’t available. All of our safety equipment is up to date and visible at all times on the sail. You will see the sailboat option is not in viator. The agent working through me on viator asked you if you wanted the sailboat, we accommodated your tour, the extra person who came for free. Sailboats have a center board which gives an 8 foot draft. Our expertise is in boating and sailing. Our captains would never put guests in harms way, unfortunately that sometimes means we have to choose safety over convenience. Tides, other boats and weather conditions determine where we can anchor. As much as I appreciate viator, sometimes booking through a third party can cause miscommunication. I’m sorry that I wasn’t as clear as you needed, our conversation via text seems to make it perfectly clear that the yacht wasn’t available, I sent pictures of the sailboat as you requested. I could have been talking to multiple guests as well. We always recommend a single point of contact.
