This site is very large. We were surprised how beautiful the restored buildings were. We visited for approximately 1 1/2 hours.

Oh my God this place is fantastic! I rate it right along with the Sagrada Familia and feel everyone should go see it. Originally a hospital, it's really beautiful, in Art Nouveau style (oh the tiles....just beautiful!!) with different pavilions for the different wards, male/female, different types of illness/condition. Clearly, some had fallen into disrepair and a project to renovate is ongoing, but some parts are simply stunning and the exhibition areas have really good information. In the central courtyards you can sit, and for us at this time of year there were orange trees heavy with fruit all around, plus other lovely plants eg lavender. Barcelona isn't only Gaudi!!!!

Another wonderful colourful work of Lluís Domènech i Montaner and fascinating hospital setup. Definitely include in your trip to Barcelona.

Another inspired architect Don't miss this amazing place. When the beautiful is in the service of health. We discover the medicine of the 20th century.
Sant Salvador Pavilion, summarising the history of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, from its founding in 1401 up until the 21st century. On the upper floor, visitors will see a contemporary installation symbolising a dragon, a tribute to the figure and the work of Lluís Domènech i Montaner, who was a key architect in Modernisme, the Catalan Art Nouveau.
