Overview
Born from a "dream of love and an idea of beauty", Pienza, the ideal city of the Italian Renaissance, is still today an intact testimony of an illustrious architectural project, commissioned by Pope Pius II Piccolomini and made concrete by the great Florentine architect Bernardo Rossellino.
Built in a very limited period of time (1459-1462), the city of Pio is the result of a single master plan marked, by the will of the great humanist pope who gave it the name, by design criteria of harmony and aesthetic perfection still today. clearly visible in the small urban center that was Corsignano in the Middle Ages.

Unforgettable Tuscany Adventure

I cannot recommend Sara enough! My husband and I had a private tour with Sara and we were absolutely amazed by her knowledge, positive personality and general vibe of the tour! We took many private guides in the past, but Sara is by far on the best! From start to finish, our tour was an extraordinary experience. Sara had an incredible depth of knowledge about Tuscany's history, culture, and hidden gems, which brought every location to life. We were in Pienza, Montepulciano and a couple other little villages in d'Orcia Valley. Sara tailored the experience to our interests, ensuring every moment felt personal and meaningful. The interior shows the baptismal font where the two pontiffs of the Piccolomini family were baptized: Pius II and Pius III and a crypt.
