This is a self-guided walking trail, designed for you to compete with your friends and family by visiting different sites along the route, answering questions and finding off-piste locations. In this interactive game, there are also bonus ways of earning or losing points, which depends on who/what you see during the tour. Offering you the chance to see Saint Malo from a different perspective, you'll be provided with a digital copy of the tour, full of photographs, history and tricky questions. There's no need for Wi-Fi, you just need to download your tour and you're ready to go. You'll be guided to different sites, where you can learn about their history and earn points by answering questions, as well as earn bonus points by finding different spots in the vicinity - for example, did you know that there used to be guard dogs ('les chiens du guet') let loose on the beach at night? It's up to you to find the traces of these fierce dogs along the ramparts!

Fun trip around the old town of St Malo, distracted us on a grey day! We had fun trying to get some of the bonus points (the seagulls!)

This was a good trip overall but the quite limited information about what you were seeing was disappointing and detracted from the enjoyment of the activity. It was annoying that to do some of the extras the information came too late and you had to backtrack to something that you had previously almost walked past. I would also question the timing of 1hr to do the basic walk - I am sure that is theoretically correct if you know exactly where you are going and walked the route quickly but it does not reflect the reality of it as a tourist walk. We did most of the ‘extras’ although we didn’t bother with a few near the end and we were walking at a reasonable pace (though admittedly not a quick pace) and it took nearer 3 hours.

If you are going to a place you do not know and want to visit this place in the most effective way, I definitely recommend it. If you went with your children, you can spend time with them like an adventure game.

Port city with a lot of history and very beautiful. I went alone and traveled a lot at all hours of the day and night because I felt very safe
One of your first stops will be the city's old castle, now the Hotel de Ville, which is just a 2 minute walk from the start point.
You will be guided around the ramparts, reached via stairs or a ramp, which offers beautiful views over the walled city and the beaches that surround it.
You will be guided to a view point overlooking the Bon Secours beach, its beautiful sea pool and nearby islands. For bonus points, you can take a detour down onto the beach itself.
Within the intra-muros, you'll be guided to the cathedral. If you visit within opening hours (9:30-19:00 most days), you have the chance of discovering the votive ship models inside the cathedral.
Among other sites in the winding streets of the intra-muros, you'll pass this 18th century mansion once owned by a corsair.
