Overview

Beginning at Central Wharf in Boston, hop aboard a high-speed catamaran and embark on a whale-watching cruise to Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, a stretch of open water at the mouth of Massachusetts Bay that serves as a rich feeding ground for whales, dolphins, sea birds and more.

From the ship’s three outdoor decks, view humpback, fin, minke and pilot whales, plus Atlantic white-sided dolphins and more with the help of a naturalist from the Whale Center of New England. They share their knowledge about the animals’ behaviors, conservation status, scientific tracking and more.

In between whale sightings, relax in the comfortable, climate-controlled indoor cabin, which features state-of-the-art sound and video systems, the New England Aquarium Education Station and a galley offering food and beverages for purchase.

Breathtaking!!! Breathtaking!!

Maria_M, Mar 2025

This tour was great. We were taken out probably 45 minutes to an hour out. We were able to see a lot of the whales. The tour guide pointed everything out entering to us. It was an amazing, amazing, amazing experience.

Whales and much more!!!

Gerry_H, Jan 2025

One of our BEST experiences ever! Saw two mama's and 2 babies with another whale all hanging out together!!! The one baby breached 23 times when we were there quite the site! He even rolled on his side and flapped his fin like waving goodbye when we were leaving! Totally serious! We have it on video!! Way exceeded our expectations!!!

Quite unprofessional in committing wrong to the customers. They could had been more transparent.

It was one of the worst experiences in my complete US trip. We were cheated by either Boston Whale watching cruise or by Civitas. The event was called off due to medical emergency for one of the passengers, we just touched the whale watching spot and without having to see anything we had to return in order to get medical attention for the person in need. At the time of disembarking the cruise we were told we will be given 100% refund which has paid as 50% only. This was totally unprofessional.

An Amazing adventure.

We saw 25-30 humpback whales. It was an amazing adventure. They were all around us. Excellent experience and probably a once in a life time experience.
