Fantastic Night Out

philipl596, May 2025

The cabaret show was an excellent experience. I was pleasantly surprised to find so much was in English. There was a great mixture of dance, music and skilful circus performances. The atmosphere was enhanced by the attention to a dress code followed by the audience. It was a fantastic night in which the performers are to be highly praised for the energetic lively performances. One downside was that even though the audience had been told not to film, some clearly did. The woman next to me filmed almost every act, this being rather distracting.

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Dear guest, thank you very much for your review. We are happy to know you enjoyed our performance. Sincerely, Hybernia Theatre Team

Itinerary

  • AAI Ballets Hybernia

A Czech musical production based on the "Singin' in the Rain", a film romantic comedy from 1952. In the main roles you will see the most famous Czech musical actors and dancers. You can look forward to spectacular tap-dancing numbers and the performance is with English subtitles.

Singin' in the Rain did not receive a stage version until 1985. It was first performed at Broadway's Gershwin Theater and had a total of 367 sold-out performances. It subsequently ran on stages around the world.

The story is set in 1927, when silent film star couple Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are faced with the challenge of starting to talk in the movies. However, Lina's voice is ridiculously squeaky. It seems shooting of the new film is going to be a fiasco. But then there's Don's friend Cosmo Brown, a pianist and composer, comes up with an idea that a young and beautiful aspiring actress Kathy Selden could dub Lina. Come to the Hybernia Theatre to see how it all turns out!
