It's pretty fast paced, but gives a good overview of upper old town. Easy pick up from and return to ferry terminal. About 2-1/2 hour guided tour and 3 hours on your own.

This was a well orchestrated tour. Pick up and drop off or punctual, and there was a perfect mix of tour guide and opportunity to explore on your own. The tour is relatively walkable, however, it should be noted navigating strollers or with walking aids may be a bit more difficult. Our tour was on a Saturday so the evening ferry ride back provided a wonderful glimpse into the local usage of the ferry as a means of shopping and nightlife activity (as there was a series of concerts across the ship).

Wonderful experience. The Ferry to Talinn was so much fun. it was like a mini cruise ship! Live bands, dancing, Bingo, Karaoke, entertainment, restaurants, bars, buffet and a massive duty free shop where people were buying liquor by the cart full. Our guide met us in Talinn and the transfer to the old town was easy. Julianna was super knowledgeable and the 3 hour walking tour was very informative! Love the history, lots of beautiful sights and scenery. Might be too strenuous for some, there is a lot of walking up and down hills on cobblestones. We had 3 hours to shop and dine on our own. We are big fans of the cafe culture and loved sitting in the square with a cold beer at an outside table. The transfer back was right on time. And the ferry back was fun with a great live band and dancing!

Visit the Old Town Tallinn Viru Gates. The main historical gate of the city is one of the places that help to get a complete picture of the Tallinn Old City. The main entrance into Old Town is marked by these beautiful twin gate towers.
The three-storey tower dates to the 14th century and at different times was used as a prison and a weapons store. It also houses an art gallery.
St. Catherine’s Passage is a picturesque and unique walkway winds its way from Vene Street past the southern end of the Dominican monastery to Müürivahe Street. St Catherine's church, from which the alley took its name, is thought to have been built here more than 700 years ago. a few handicraft workshops can be found here, in which you can watch the artists at work – creating ceramics, hats, glass and more
Visit the Dominican Monastery a former monastery and one of the oldest buildings in Tallinn
The Gothic St. Olaf’s Church was the tallest building in the World. The tower's viewing platform offers tourists one of the best views of Tallinn
Toompea is a limestone hill in the central part of the city and towers over the rest of the city. Toompea Castle has always been the seat of power in Estonia. The Parliament of Estonia (Riigikogu) is based in the castle and is the world’s only expressionist parliament building with its expressionist style interiors.
Cherish the extraordinary architecture of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the largest and grandest orthodox cupola cathedral in Tallinn's. It's areal view looks like the crown of the Toompea hill. The short climb up the Toompea hill is worth it.
Kohtuotsa offers sweeping panoramas of Old Town's rooftops and towers against the backdrop of the modern city skyline. On the east corner of Toompea hill, it offers unforgettable views of the medieval neighbourhood on Tallinn.
