As described in our listing, this experience starts on the beach with a quick snorkeling lesson, where guests learn how to use the mask and breathe underwater. After this initial lesson, the experience continues into crystal-clear open water to explore a nearby reef, with guided instruction provided throughout. Participation in snorkeling requires entering the water, as this is a hands-on activity rather than a classroom-only lesson. Upon arrival, the guests expressed concern about ocean conditions and stated they were not comfortable proceeding beyond 2–3 feet of water due to fear. They were informed that the reef portion of the experience takes place in deeper water, as outlined in the tour description, and that life vests are provided and required. Alternative accommodations were discussed, including remaining on shore while the rest of the small group continued to the nearby reef, since the experience could not be modified for the entire group. The guests agreed to this option. Our guide provided the on-beach lesson, assistance, and reassurance, and repeatedly asked if further help was needed. The guest declined additional assistance and confirmed it was acceptable for the group to proceed. The remainder of the group, including first-time snorkelers, successfully explored the reef and reported a positive experience. While we respect that this experience may not be suitable for guests who are uncomfortable entering open water, the tour was delivered as described in the listing, including the beach lesson, guided instruction, and reef exploration.
