Overview

Discover what life was like in Roman times in this area by discovering two Roman cities in the province of Seville.

Italica and Híspalis were two Roman cities that were very close, although different from each other. Learn about the legacy of the Roman Empire in our culture by visiting these unusual places, one on the outskirts of Seville, the other in the same city, and discover one of the most famous amphitheatres in this region. The visit to Italica ends at the Roman amphitheatre, where you will walk through the entrances and labyrinths of one of the largest amphitheatres of the Empire.

Great

Stephen_N, Sept 2024

The guide Jesus was informative, enthusiastic, and entertaining. Really a nice experience. The booking company offered hotel pickup. Great. Our address was not listed on the web site drop down list of hotels available for pickup. So I choose a hotel on the drop down list just a few doors down from our rental. Cleaver. On the morning of the tour an email from the booking company stated that they could not pick up from that hotel and that we would need to meet 15 minutes away because that hotel was in a restricted area. Not sure why the hotel was listed in the drop down list if it they couldn’t provide the service advertised?

The tour guides were very knowledgeable. Guides allowed us to interact and they were also humorous. Had a great time!

A site worth the detour

Very close to Sevilla, short drive at a town called Santiponce. You can also get a bus from Sevilla. The entrance is free but not sure for how long as the site has applied for UNESCO classing. It is vast, so a good pair of walking shoes water and hat if you visit in the hot months. Very hot. Numerous amazing mosaics. Very close by do not miss a stop at the Monasterio de San Isidro del Campo, also a free visit. I recommend.

Italica visit

Elaine_G, May 2023

We enjoyed our visit to Italica with Patricia who was a lovely guide. We were awed by whole site but sadden that there is a lack of funding to protect this treasure. The ruins are incredible and give you a peak into life in Roman times.
