Overview
Head to Saint Mark’s Square, where your venue for the mask workshop is located. You’ll be in the heart of Venice, making it easy to fit in other sightseeing plans either before or after the class.
A Venetian master artisan explains the ancient techniques of creating beautiful masks out of papier-mâché. Learn about the traditions of Venetian Carnival and masks that stretch back centuries.
Then enjoy hands-on instruction in creating your own mask led by a master. After the class ends, participants get to take their masks home. Or, if you're in Venice around Carnival, then you can wear your mask and join in the celebrations.

Not to be Missed!

Absolutely wonderful experience---and something different. Giorgio was friendly and engaging---shared interesting historical info about Venice and the tradition of mask-making as well as about his own personal connection to the city (his family has been there for centuries.) Cozy, peaceful atmosphere in which to paint away. In the end, Giorgio spun his masterful magic, adding the finishing touches to our pieces and transforming them into little works of art. Can’t wait to return. Would love to do this again.

This was such a fun activity to do in Venice, especially on a rainy day. The owner was so nice and reminded me of my Italian grandfathers. ???? He helped us with our masks and added the finishing details. It was my husband, my 10 year old daughter, and me. I recommend this to any family looking for a nice activity and a great souvenir to take home.

Mask making added a relaxing, interesting and fun activity to our busy schedule. The owner gave us a detailed history of masks and what they mean to Venice while we painted, and his son skillfully turned my messy job into a beautiful mask. Will do this again if I return to Venice
