Head to Saint Mark’s Square, where your venue for the mask workshop is located. You’ll be in the heart of Venice, making it easy to fit in other sightseeing plans either before or after the class.
A Venetian master artisan explains the ancient techniques of creating beautiful masks out of papier-mâché. Learn about the traditions of Venetian Carnival and masks that stretch back centuries.
Then enjoy hands-on instruction in creating your own mask led by a master. After the class ends, participants get to take their masks home. Or, if you're in Venice around Carnival, then you can wear your mask and join in the celebrations.

The mask making was fun. The person that teaches it is also an authentic multigenerational amazing mask designer himself. Definitely recommend

What a sad situation... this is not a mask making workshop. This is a painting session with absolute NO HELP OR GUIDNACE. Francesco only told us to first choose a mask, then paint it, then put glitter after which he sprayed it with lacquer. There was no help from him. No tips, no history on venetian mask making, nothing. He literally gave us the mask we chose, the paint, brushes, and glitter and said we can start painting. He sat behind us for the whole hour, scribbling in his book, and not interacting with us at all. For the price we paid, we expected so much more! If I had to go and do this at home, it would not even have cost me €10 to purchase all the supplies. It was very dissapointing. When we were done, we weren't even offered anything to clean our hands with. If I could rate this a 0, I would. I would not recommend this to anyone. It is a waste of time and money. I could have done so much more with this money and gotten out a lot more value for it.

It was fun to create venetian masks with my daughters and grandchildren! They really embraced the painting of them and the instructor was very encouraging and helpful !
