A great way to taste the very best of Chester. Our host Gareth was excellent—his knowledge of the city’s Roman and medieval history is as good as the food and drink we had during the tour. We were in a tour group of four, and visited a selection of outstanding local independents, no chains or high street names. No spoilers, but you’ll visit hidden gems you’d likely walk right past on your own. It’s a brilliant way to support local businesses while getting a deep dive into Chester’s heritage.

If you're visiting Chester, absolutely don't miss this tour! Gareth was a world class guide, entertaining and informative, and made us feel so very very welcome. After excellent pre-tour communication, the afternoon lived up to our hopes. Wonderful food, plenty to eat, so much fascinating history and photo stops, and the highlight of an already fantastic day was the wine stop.
