The tour was really interesting and very well led by our lovely enthusiastic tour guide Anna. She was knowledgeable, warm and friendly despite the pouring rain. Highly recommend

Thank you for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that Anna made such a positive impression. It’s wonderful to know that her enthusiasm and knowledge shone through, even in the pouring rain. We appreciate your recommendation and hope you have many more enjoyable experiences in the future!

This was the worst experience we have ever had with a Viator tour. We will NOT be using Viator again. We paid $100 EUR for four of us to have want we thought was an English speaking hour tour. The tour turned out to be a large group with both English and German. Half the time we just stood there not understanding what was being discussed, while the German group was laughing and asking questions. The guide did not attempt at all to give us the information she was giving them. After 15 minutes, we bailed on the tour. TOTAL waste of money!

I’m really sorry to hear about your experience. It sounds incredibly frustrating, especially after paying for what you expected to be a focused English-speaking tour. It’s disappointing when a tour doesn’t meet your expectations, especially regarding language clarity. I recommend reaching out to Viator’s customer service to express your concerns and possibly request a refund. They should be aware of issues like this so they can improve their services. Thank you for sharing your feedback; it helps others make informed decisions.
In 1977 Jean Tinguely created sculptural machines in a shallow fountain where the stage of the old city theatre company once stood, and in the process gifted Basel a famous new landmark.
This church is nowadays home of the Historic Museum of Basel.
Together with the Mittlere Brücke, the Basler Münster (Cathedral) is probably the most famous landmark in Basel. With its red sandstone walls, colourful roof tiles and twin towers, no other building adorns the cityscape of Basel like the Cathedral.
The Museum der Kulturen Basel ranks among the leading ethnographic museums in Europe.
You will pass by the lively market of Basel.
The City Hall is the seat of the Basel government and its parliament. In the midst of the Old Town, it is particularly eyecatching with its red facade, the characteristic tower and playful frescoes.
Beautiful square surrounded by little shops and beautiful houses.
