"The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia" - FLINDERS STREET, 3000
(This is directly opposite 154 Flinders Street)
- A 2 minute walk from Melbourne's main train station - Flinders Street Railway Station.
You will be greeted by one of our tour guides in either one of our 14-seater white Mercedes-Benz buses or one of our 22-seater buses at 8.35am, where we will check you in and pick your seat. The bus leaves promptly at 9am or earlier if everyone has arrived. Late arrivals cannot be waited for.
If everyone arrives early and we depart early, then we can stop half way for a coffee and look for kangaroos (weather dependant).
Just a 60 minute drive to get you to your first winery. (30 minutes on the freeway and 30 minutes through the countryside and vineyards, passing through the lovely town of Warrandyte).
We visit Soumah every day. You will enjoy a guided tasting of five different wines, varying from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Nebbiolo and Brachetto. You will be sure to find something pleasing while overlooking the rolling hills of the vineyard and the majestic Warramate Hills.
We visit Four Pillars every day. Here you will enjoy three of their gins. (Or we can walk you over to the incredible Payten & Jones for a wine & Spanish vermouth tasting or one of their dozens of international beers they have on offer).
If gin isn't your thing - Payten & Jones for a Wine & Spanish Vermouth tasting consisting of Sangioveses and Tempranillos. This is a 10 second walk from Four Pillars, so we can easily split the group up here depending on your preference. If you do not want a wine tasting, then we will happily buy you a beer from one of their dozens of international beers they have on offer!
We visit 'Quarters' restaurant @ Hubert Estate every day for lunch and a look around their indigenous art gallery on the floor below their cellar door. If you brought your own food, you can eat it somewhere away from their grounds. We will sit in the restaurant and enjoy lunch together. Food and drink are not included in the tour price here, as to give you more freedom to enjoy whatever you choose for your lunch. They offer a wide variety of fantastic food here and cater for all dietary requirements.
"With a menu full of Modern Australian and European inspired dishes, Quarters is perfect for foodies, families, and everyone in between. Think succulent steaks, vibrant local veg, and delicate, flaky fish.
Feeling extra hungry? Try some pasta, handmade on site, and our incredible (yes, incredible) woodfired pizza, unlike any others in the region. Lucky everyone has a second stomach for dessert, because our dedicated team of pastry chefs will tempt anyone with a sweet tooth."
On the way to lunch, we can pull into Chandon, Yarra Valley's home of sparkling wine. There is no tasting or booking here. It is just a quick stop before lunch to grab a bottle of their famous sparkling wine from their shop or to snap one of the most picturesque photos of the day.
You can have lunch here if you would like, instead of Hubert Estate, but you will have to contact us to ask us what time you will need to book your table at Chandon.
At Hubert estate, we have lunch tables booked seven days a week. At Chandon, there is nothing booked and you will have to make your own booking if you would like to have lunch there.
If The Chocolaterie isn't your thing, then let your driver know at lunch and they will happily take you to Yering Station Winery where you can buy yourself a glass of wine at Victoria's first planted vineyard (1838).
We visit the Chocolaterie every day for a fantastic guided tasting of 10 of there 500 different chocolates. The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery is a popular attraction in the Yarra Valley, known for their wide variety of handmade chocolates and delicious ice cream. Visitors can watch the chocolatiers at work, sample their products, and purchase gelato and gifts to take home.
We visit Balgownie Estate every day. You will enjoy a guided tasting of five different wines and whilst enjoying the incredible views! Balgownie Estate is also an award winning hotel. So if you do not want to join in with the guided wine tasting, then we will buy you a glass of wine or a tea or a coffee and you can take a seat and enjoy the ambience and the view.
