Overview

This tour takes you through the picturesque often medieval streets stopping you at some of the best food shops, bars, and restaurants and sharing the stories behind local ingredients and dishes. When it is relevant, I share a bit of history with you to contextualize the food and drink. By the end, you will feel a little more like a local and have a good range of gourmet addresses and tidbits up your sleeve. Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar is a great example of Catalan Gothic architecture. Construction began in 1329 and took 54 years to complete. The building is special because it was built and financed entirely by the occupants of La Ribera: sailors, harbor workers, fishermen, craftsmen and merchants.
