Lovely day on a slow boat up the fjord.. great hotel to visit at the end of the boat trip,, limited time but worth the efffort.. 1949 built boat.. yesteryear design with awesome scenery.. 6 hrs in total.

Great boat trip, they even had blankets for us. The views were outstanding, the staff was outstanding.
Poor communication and organisation

Unfortunately this is very poorly organised and the staff on board do not communicate or keep you informed. Firstly, there is not a lot of room on the main deck due to a strange layout (MS Brunvnik) and people just kept cramming themselves in as nobody was made aware there is more seating in the lower deck (this is not easy to Spot or navigate unless directed). Secondly, we were given no information in terms of navigation or timings for arrival ports, departure times from ports and waiting time at Oye. They do not provide any information voluntarily and this is very different compared to our cruise to Geiranger with another well organised operator. Lastly, perhaps we were part of the minority but there was a choir onboard during our cruise that kept going around signing every hour or so. Sorry but we did not enjoy this or sign up this at all. I was not aware people can simply board any cruise and just go around signing at will whether passengers like it or not. Overall a very poor experience and one I would not recommend.
Filthy, Dirty windows

I’m currently on this boat (Gabriele) but really disappointing as you cannot see anything out if the windows, they are all filthy. I went on a boat yesterday and the windows were spotless so there’s no excuse, clean the boat it’s important as this is a once in a lifetime trip. It’s freezing cold today hence why I sat inside but really angry as paid a lot if money to do this with Cunard. I have added a photo and every window is this dirty.

Hello. I am sorry for your bad experience. However you have made a review of the wrong Tour. The Hjorundfjord Fjord Tour Roundtrip from Alesund is operated by the boat MS Bruvik and not the MS Gabriele which you were on.

The tour starts in Ålesund city centre at the floating pier at the "Rådhuskaia" pier, nest to the bus terminal and cruise pier.
We pass by the narrow strait of Vegsund close by the traditional Norwegian boathouses
The tour goes through the entire Hjørundfjord, passed all the tall mountains and small traditional villages

We pass near by the small village of Sæbø
We pass near by the small village of Urke
Oye
We stop at Øye, in the deep end of the fjord, for a 30 minutes stop. Time to explore the small village under the steep tall mountains and the exclusive Hotel Union Øye where rolyalty and celebrities have visited for hundreds of years.
30 minutesAfter a stop at Øye we return to Ålesund on the same route through Hjørundfjord
