This tour will take us, together with a local guide, to discover the real Padua. We will take a walk around the city to discover the most important views and monuments. We will see Prato della Valle, the Basilica of Sant'Antonio or "Il Santo", destination of millions of pilgrims every year and a romantic mix of styles and cultures from all corners of the world. Along the cobbled streets and medieval porticoes we will reach the beating heart of the historic center. We will see the ancient Ghetto of the city which, with its narrow streets and clubs, has become a meeting place for young students. Then the squares, Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza della Frutta with views of the Palazzo della Ragione and often enlivened by the market stalls and the swarming of people under the "Hall". We will reach Piazza dei Signori, a meeting place for Paduans for an aperitif and once the home of the city's lords. Palazzo Bo, seat of the University of Padua. We will conclude the tour with a "Padua-style" tasting.

I did the Live Padua(Padova) as a Local walking tour, and highly recommend it to anyone who has a few hours to spend in this vibrant city. Chiara was an excellent guide, sharing her experiences and local knowledge of the people and culture as we walked through the heart of the historic city centers. Connecting was easy (we used WhatsApp to find each other at the meeting place) and Chiara’s international perspective made for illuminating commentary and excellent choice of locations to include in our tour. Well worth every penny!

The visit of the city with Chiara our guide was very pleasant; a person. He conveys to you the passion with which he does this work. She was exhaustive and prepared. Given the pleasant surprise of being only 2 with her seen the low season we were also able to exchange mutual life experiences.

We did the tour with some friends, it was fun and interesting. Thank you for making our day special and showing us curiosities and corners of the city that I did not know. We had a great time, it was a great experience
Prato della Valle, the largest square in the city of Padua and one of the largest in Europe, which with its 78 statues is like an album of the important figures of Padua.
The Basilica of Sant’Antonio or "Il Santo" is the destination of millions of pilgrims every year, a romantic mix of styles and cultures from all corners of the world.
To the south of the Piazza delle Erbe, a labyrinth of narrow streets winds up forming the Jewish Ghetto, operating since 1603 and abolished in 1797, the year in which, under the pressure of the French Revolution, Jews were declared free and equal.
The Market is located in the center of the city, in a large building called Palazzo della Ragione. In the so-called Covered Market “Sotto il Salone”, there are various gastronomic specialty shops where you can find all sorts of Paduan specialties and excellences. Here you will find butchers, fishmongers, greengrocers and many other shops selling oil, meat, cheeses and much more.
Piazza delle Erbe once also called piazza delle Biade or piazza del Vino but also piazza della Giustizia is one of the numerous squares that characterize the historic center of Padua. For centuries, with Piazza della Frutta, it was the commercial center of the city. One of the largest markets in Italy takes place in the two squares. Unlike Piazza dei Signori, the theater of civic celebrations, Piazza delle Erbe was the site of popular celebrations. The square is dominated by the massive Palazzo della Ragione, part of the large Palazzo Comunale.
Piazza della Frutta once also called Piazza del Peronio is one of the numerous squares that characterize the historic center of Padua. It was for centuries, with Piazza delle Erbe, the commercial center of the city. One of the largest markets in Italy takes place in the two squares. The square is dominated by the massive Palazzo della Ragione, part of the large Palazzo Comunale and the Torre degli Anziani.
Palazzo Bo seat of the University of Padua, founded in 1222, is the historic seat of the University of Padua. It still houses the Rectorate and the School of Law. It is also the seat of the oldest Anatomical Theater in the world.
Also known as the café without doors because it remained open day and night from its inauguration in 1831 until 1916. Here it is possible to taste CAFFÈ PEDROCCHI, the most famous mint coffee in the world, which comes from the perfect combination of 100% Arabica espresso, emulsion of fresh cream and mint in syrup and a sprinkling of bitter cocoa.
