Mark Dion’s immersive, uncanny installation at La Brea Tar Pits, Excavations, evokes a behind-the-scenes museum space, displaying new work alongside early museum murals, dioramas, and maquettes of Ice Age mammals in a playful, irreverent presentation in keeping with his meticulous yet mischievous approach.

- If you're a student, please bring a valid student identification card.Los Angeles County residents can enjoy complimentary museum entry between 3-5 p.m. on weekdays, with onsite ticket availability.
- The museum's parking lot is located at the corner of Curson Avenue and 6th Street, directly behind the museum
- Present your smartphone voucher at the entrance to the museum. You will then be given a wristband for entry
- The Excavator Tour is included with General Admission and can be reserved onsiteIf you're a student, please bring a valid student identification card.
