Great tour through Rio‘s diverse history and its corresponding architecture with many highlights of modernist architects

Great tour about modern architecture in Rio with lots of highlights by Oscar Niemeyer and other modernist architects! Our guide Monica was super flexible and also accommodated our wishes to see some buildings from the older parts of the city, such as Praça XV, Cinelândia and the São Bento Monastery. Overall, she was very knowledgeable and could answer all questions we had about the city and its history. We can absolutely recommend to not only visit the standard sights such as Christ the Redeemer and the Sugar Loaf but instead learn more about the diverse history of Rio and the corresponding architecture of the different epochs.

Copacabana Beach
Admire the sidewalks and the buildings all around. We do not stop for swimming. We focus on the architecture aspects around us.
30 minutesWe stop in front of the hotel to pay attention to the architecture of this beautiful modern building.
30 minutesSESC Copacabana
The SESC Copacabana is a precious hidden architectural modern building that people take for granted. Most people never stop in front of it to admire its shape.
30 minutesAs we stroll through the Copacabana beach, we stop in front of the Museu da Imagem e do Som. It is still under construction, but we can appreciate the modern style of the building.
Guinle Park
From Copacabana, we go to Laranjeiras, a different neighborhood in Rio. We pass through the gate and admire the trees, the pound and the flowers in the area.

From Laranjeiras, we go to the Feira de São Cristóvão. Admire the interesting shape of the Feira de São Cristóvão. Stop for a quick bite (not included).
