Overview

On this walking tour, you will visit the Fine Arts Palace, considered the most important cultural venue in Mexico City, Palacio de Correos and Calle Madero, where you will learn about its history and the stories and curiosities of the buildings that are in it, such as the Casa de los Azulejos or an old Franciscan convent, among others.

To continue with the walk, you will visit the Zócalo, where you can admire the National Palace and the Cathedral, one of the most important buildings of Spanish-American architecture and a World Heritage Site since 1987. Then you will continue to the Templo Mayor to visit the ruins from the outside, where the guide will tell you all about its history.

To end this experience, you will visit the Torre Latinoamericana, a 44-floor skyscraper inspired by the Empire State of New York, which has a viewpoint on the top floor from which you can admire the best views of the city. This building was the tallest in Mexico City, from its construction in 1956 to 2004.

After learning the history of this impressive building, if you have selected the option with the access to the viewpoint included, you will have time to climb on your own.

Heart of the city insight

Rizwan_K, Dec 2024

We enjoyed our nighttime walk and really appreciated the sights and sounds of the heart of Mexico City. Carlos was an informative guide who worked hard to keep both language groups engaged!

Rainy but beautiful — Alexa is the best!

Pallavi_R, May 2024

Our second booking with Amigo tours and our second time getting Alexa — she is the best!! Not only does she carry photos, a whiteboard, historical info galore, she is the most inventive & hilarious storyteller with the most delightful details. We had a bad thunderstorm JUST as we began but it did not deter her enthusiasm or commitment. We walked through the rain to every location and truly enjoyed her narration. You wont regret the tour anyway but if you get Alexa, consider it a lottery win!

Had a great experience with Bernardo! The history and architecturale information was excellent. Although it was an english tour, it was a nice surprise that he was also fluent in French as we were. Merci beaucoup!

The guide was quite friendly, he answered all the questions, explained in detail the history of the places visited, the truth is that it was a very good experience.
