Overview
Arise bright and early for 7am departure; you'll be picked up at your Paris accommodation. Meet your guide and driver, then climb in to your private vehicle and take off through the city, heading southeast.
Stop first at the Château de Fontainebleau, which has been a sovereign residence for 800 years and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Learn about the French dynasties that have resided here as you stroll through the gardens and take in the vast art collection.
Finish up at the palace and head over to a regional restaurant for a traditional French lunch (own expense) to refuel before your afternoon in Barbizon.
The village of Barbizon was home to the 'Barbizon School' of 19th-century French painters, including Théodore Rousseau and Jean-François Millet. Visit the Barbizon School Museum to learn about the art history in the area, and visit Millet's studio.
Return to Paris via private vehicle around 6pm.

We were picked up at our hotel by a driver and guide how was extremely knowledgeable on the palace and it’s associated history. We found this tour most enjoyable with a very approachable and friendly guide. We also went to Barbizon for a tour of this fascinating little village and it’s art history. We had a wonderful day.
