Great tour guide, sorry I...

Skyler_S, Jul 2026

Great tour guide, sorry I suck at names when I am not paying attention. But he was really good with alot of knowledge about the area. He grew up here aonit was nice to hear. Falls were great, we had a great view of Pulpit Rock. He really opened up the boat and made sure he was bouncing us around so we felt the waves. Great ride. My 1 recommendation is if yiu get hot in thw suits, dont pull it up all the way unless its cold outside. When stopped I pulled mine down to the waste as I was drenched with sweat. Just my thought. Then the breeze was great. Had the 10:15 and got back with plenty of time to explore the city.

Just ok

We rode quite a distance at high speed to see pulpit rock which was ok. Our guide wasn't very informative and I had to ask questions to get info. Our friends had a different guide and they were much happier and informed. Experience depends on guide. I wouldn't do again because it was just a long boat ride. Would have rather gone closer so we enjoy geography.

Not worth our time or money

Adam_B, Jun 2026

Many of the reviews reference a speedboat with a cover and way to get out of the wind. Not so on this boat. In fact one photo show a couple having wine and a snack. We were in float suits, protected from the wind that way, with goggles to protect our eyes. Once 6 of us jammed into the back of the boat around the table, we sped at 45 mph out to a couple of sites. Pulpit rock and Whiskey Falls, with a bonus couple of mountain goats. Our captain didn't say anything. Someone asked what the rock was made of. He didn't know. It was granite said the recorded speech he played at the couple of stops. 45 min out 15 min to see the sites and 45 back. There was no benefit to this boat over the RIBs that went speeding by, if your goal is to see these sites. You can Google them and save your money and time.

Thank you for the feedback. I am sorry that your experience was not as expected. On this particular day we had to use our reserve boat, which is smaller and has no sun-top. The weather was good though, but during cruise there will be wind on either boats. On this departure we had to wait for some passengers, because their cruiseship docked later than expected.

This was amazing...

Julie_T, Jun 2026

This was amazing experience. The big boats seemed boring and the rib boats were so exposed and really tight on space. This was a perfect blend of them both. We were a group of 4 and were joined by another group of 4 later in the journey. There was plenty of room for all. Our captain was great and gave us a wild ride.

Itinerary

  • Stavanger

The tour start in our boathouse in Strandkaien 34, located in the heart of Stavanger harbour and a very short walking distance from the cruise terminal. Here you will be able to sit down and relax, use our WC, put on the floating suit etc. You will also meet the captain which will help you to put on the safety equipment. He will also give you a small safety brief before boarding the boat. We start off slowly by gliding out of Stavanger harbour while passing mighty cruiseships or other vessels. On the way out you will have a beautiful view of the city centre and to some of the iconic buildings like "Tollboden" and the Norwegian oil museum. After we pass the bridge you will see a gigantic street art painting before we then accelerate to a thrilling 25-35 knots and head to Lysefjorden. Note: due to capacity restraints and regulations we might have to depart from another dock nearby. Fjord Xplore will provide free transfer (<5 min. drive).

    15 minutes
  • Lysefjord

The Lysefjord, spanning an impressive 42 kilometers, is a marvel of natural beauty nestled in the heart of Norway. The fjord, carved by glaciers during the last Ice Age, showcases a dramatic landscape where steep mountains, adorned with lush emerald forests and cascading waterfalls, rise sharply from pristine waters.

World renowned natural formations draw thousands to the fjord every year, including Pulpit Rock, a flat topped cliff offering breathtaking views.

As you venture through its narrow corridor, you’ll be on the lookout for the bustling wildlife that inhabits the region. On a good day it will be possible to spot seals, porpoises, sea eagles, and more.

As the water pours down the cliff face, it creates a mist that shrouds the mountainside in an ethereal haze.
