What an experience! You are immersed in all the magic any time you come to Malahide anyway - we go regularly for walks and fairy trails and butterfly house and always love the restaurant and Avoca shop, but I must say the whole idea of the hunt dinner was genius! A huge warm welcome from the most beautiful woman who works in the ticket office, who told us about this event. Then the aperitif was a Lambay whiskey, with lemon and soda. The Irish wolfhounds on their best behaviour with an amazing trainer who also does walks with his pack in Stephen's Green, so don't miss that experience either. He is in costume, as are the other actors, who really entertain you for the evening - a little of a Downton Abbey experience - you are accompanied through certain rooms of the castle with the actors, all excellent at playing their roles as they guide us through some history in a funny way. Then into the splendid rooms for dinner - a fantastic dinner, wine and entertainment. We met the most amazing people, so a great occasion for meeting new people and mingling. The whole atmosphere is to be experienced as it is very hard to describe emotions; you really need to do this experience to have the most magical evening of your life surrounded by history, wonderful actors and lovely dinner guests. A five-star event in every way. We hope to book again soon as it is well worth repeating - Thanks to all the wonderful staff and chefs involved, and the catering was 5-star. Highly recommend this for a special evening, a special birthday or wedding etc. Truly unique.
