Overview

Book your preferred tour option, and meet your guide in central Bath. Then, set off to explore on foot, learning about the UNESCO-listed city and its architecture on route.

Founded by the Romans as a thermal spa and littered with classical treasures, Bath flourished in the 18th century with the development of its honey-stoned, Georgian architecture.

Admire Pulteney Bridge and Gothic Bath Abbey, the coronation site of England’s first king in 973, and then continue to Bath’s showpiece: the Roman Baths.

Pay the entrance fee (depending on option selected) and tour the stunning, column-lined Great Bath and changing rooms, hot pools, and other facilities, all once used for relaxation and socializing by ancient Romans.

See the hot springs, and view the main artifacts in the museum collections, including the famous Minerva’s Head and inscribed stone tablets.

Next, delve into the historical town center to admire its Georgian architecture. See the Pump Rooms and Upper Assembly Rooms, and walk to the world-famous Royal Crescent. Drink in the sumptuous sweep of this 18th-century terrace, and admire the Circus, a circular-shaped terrace formed from curving segments.

After learning about these architectural masterpieces, your tour finishes in the city center.

Abbie_G, Apr 2025

We were a little disappointed that our tour guide did not join us for the Roman bath part of the tour.

GREAT FUN - SUPER!!

oksanakT471WZ, Apr 2025

Really enjoyed the tour, the guide was knowledgeable and engaging, delivery was light, full of lil anecdotes and fun facts; the young Phil/Phin? (sorry!) was attentive to all 15 in the group, answered questions readily! Thank u so so much! 12/10!!! Was that GREAT!

Great tour! Luca, our tour guide, was absolutely brilliant. We enjoyed his take on Bath and all of the facts he wove into the tour.

Should be called "Bath City Walking Tour".

Robin A, Apr 2025

My wife and I usually take a walking tour wherever we visit. We find it the best introduction to a new place, so we've done a reasonable number. This was a pretty good walking tour. Covered all the bases. Not the best but good. It was on the pricier side though. So why the 3* review? I don't believe it's appropriate to call it "Roman Baths and City Tour", if entry to the Baths is not included. This is explained, if you read the detail. However I don't think there is any excuse for a misleading title that you need to read the small print to understand it is just a Bath City waking tour.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

We are glad to here you enjoyed the walking tour. With reference to the option to include or exclude entrance; we have this so that you can experience the City and the Roman Baths externally (if you are working to a budget, or already have tickets), and allow the option to select an entrance so we can manage that whole process for you, and ensure you have entrance guaranteed - this is a complicated process our end, but we are happy to offer it. It is important to read the ticket options when booking; there are considerable price jumps which reflect this entrance fee the Roman Baths charge, along with a description explaining the difference. The option you select will then also be shown on your ticket (includes or excludes entrance). Furthermore, we then also send every single person an email who has booked to exclude entrance, to triple check with them, as we will have done with your booking. If someone accidentally books the wrong type, we will provide them with a full refund, if they flag that this has been a mistake, no problem. These measures have in the past manage to avoid any confusion with the hundreds of people who take this experience each week, but we apologise if this was not the case with your booking. We are at pains always to ensure everyone gets what they are expecting and will look to see if there are additional measure beyond those outlined, we can implement.
