A really good way to see...

A really good way to see the city and learn some of the history and culture. Guides were helpful and knowledgeable.

It was too cold for an open air bus tour (it was in October) but I’m not going to knock them for my own poor decisions! It’s 4 stars because, unlike other hop on tours I’ve been on, there were no signs or markings to let us know where we were to stand to get on the bus if you aren’t starting from the first stop. There was a map and we knew we were in the right general area but after a while there were about 20 of us just wandering around the “general area”. The second stop was very near our hotel but there was a lot of confusion as to where we should wait and it was quite a long wait for the first bus and the bus was already packed when it got there. The tour was both in English and French and was adequate and mostly interesting but it was hard to hear at some points because of the wind. We did learn about the underground mall which we did visit at the end. I would love to come back again and try it when it’s not freezing!

Never got to use the service.. wandered around the city trying to find the stops. Could not find buses or the stops.. They were NOT marked well at all. WASTED 100.00 for 2 people.. DO NOT waste your money..

What we liked: It ran more frequently than hop-on buses in other cities. The route it took covered many of the city's best sights. What we didn't like: Our first guide insisted on giving his commentary in both French and English, meaning he had to speak quickly and was difficult to understand because of his strong Quebec accent. This was billed as an English-language tour, and sure enough, other guides only gave their commentary in English, usually going into far more detail than driver #1. Also, this first guide repeatedly asked to be tipped, saying it is customary in Montreal to tip your hop-on guide and driver. It got a little tiresome hearing this at each stop.
