Tomas was an excellent and couteous driver who entertained us with his knowledge of German history. He personally escorted us through Dachau and gave us a wonderful narrative of the horrible history of the concentration camp.
Response from Host, Dec 2024
Tomas sounds like a truly outstanding driver and guide! His combination of excellent driving skills, courteous demeanor, and deep knowledge of German history must have made the visit both informative and memorable. Having him personally escort you through Dachau and provide such a meaningful narrative adds immense value to the experience. It'll be our pleasure to assist you in your next trip.

Exception experience with Europe Journeys. There were four of us who booked a Viking River Cruise with iCruise. Our cruise ended in Passau on October 30, 2023. They booked our one-way Passau to Munich Transfer with 2 hour stop at Dachau with European Journeys. From the time of booking, they were very quick to respond to our questions and requests. We asked to accommodate to a larger vehicle and they made that happen. Our driver, Tomas, very friendly, professional and polite. We paid a little extra and he arrived in a large Ford Mini-van. We requested a 8:30 am pickup time at the ship and Tomas was 15 minutes early. It was about 1 hour 45 minutes from Passau to Dachau. He showed us the entrance and gave us the option to extend our 2-hour stop at Dachau longer if we liked. We took him up on that and added another hour to the stop. You should arrange that in advance. It was then another 20 - 30 minutes to our hotel in the Munich City Center. As an FYI, Dachau offers audio guides and headsets, but they were not available that day. Don't know why. They also have guided tours at 11 am and 1 pm, which we did, but it was crowded. The guides are worth it. I learned so much more than if we had walked around on our own. In short, we were impressed with European Journeys. Responsive, professional and affordable for two couples on a River cruise.

Hello, John! We really appreciate your kind words. It was our pleasure to assist you with this transfer. And we are so glad Tomas met your expectations during the service. We would love to see you soon for any other transfer you may need in Europe.
Opened in 1933 primarily for political prisoners, Dachau was converted into a concentration camp as the war progressed, where some 41,000 prisoners were murdered. Those that survived were put through a living nightmare in this ‘school of violence’ for its SS operators.
The permanent exhibition, opened in 2003, follows the ‘path of the prisoners’ from their arrival through to death or liberation by Allied troops.
The stop is for 2 hours. The rest of the time is for transportation.
