Take a night kayaking tour from Las Croabas, through the mangrove channels of Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve to Laguna Grande. Here you can find the billions of microscopic plankton that live in the water and light up at the touch of your hand to create a beautiful, iridescent glow in the water. Learn about this natural phenomenon and its fragile ecosystem from your informative guide as you paddle through the lagoon. Please note the weight limit is 240 pounds per person.

Neat Experience !!

We went on the 8:30-10:30 PM trip.. it is definitely a workout for your shoulders / arms! If you have an odd number of people they will pair you with another person in the group because they are 2 person kayaks… very easy to get into and they have back rests which are helpful. They did take several pictures of our individual groups that are supposed to be emailed.. I took my phone along in a waterproof case but it’s very hard to get any pictures because your paddling the whole time except for when you stop in the Laguna… the blue glow was present but don’t expect anything like you see in the bright blue pictures - pretty sure those are enhanced .. still a very cool experience paddling through the mangroves and seeing the glow and the night sky! Our guides did a good job of explaining everything and giving a science lesson at the Laguna. If you aren’t a good kayaker - consider doing a boat tour! We did pass several boats on the way in! Be prepared to get wet up to your waist - you have to board the kayak in the water and the moment you sit down in it your butt will get wet!

This was my first time kayaking, and I was with my 9-year-old daughter—what an unforgettable experience! The Puerto Rico Kayaking team, especially Daniel, Brian, and Miguel, were amazing—fun, caring, and super professional. My daughter and I had a bit of a rough start with the paddling and found ourselves bumping around and falling behind, but Miguel stayed right with us the whole time. He was so patient and cheerful, and really made us feel safe and supported. The lagoon itself was absolutely magical—such a beautiful and surreal experience that we’ll both remember forever.

- Minimum age is 6 years old | Participants Age 6-13 must be accompanied by an adult on the same kayak. Participants 14-17 must have an adult participating on the tour.
- Wear Comfortable clothes that can get wet (bathing suit shorts), shoes that can get wet (flip flops / water shoes), bring a towel and change of clothes (for after the excursion).
- Odd number parties will be assigned on double kayaks during the tour.
- Bring your cell phone during your travel (in the event that we need to contact you, or you need to contact us prior to the excursion)
- This excursion requires a minimum of at least 6 total participants in order to provide the tour. In the event this minimum is not met, we will call 1-2 days prior to the excursion to go over alternative options (i.e. reschedule for a different date or time that has the minimum requirement, payment options for a private excursion, or cancel without penalty)
- For safety reasons we requiere all guests are able to communicate in English or Spanish.
- Not recommended for travelers with back, neck, wrist, arm, leg problems, recent surgeries / injuries and/or cast.
- Not recommended for travelers who are prone to panic attacks
