    Before visiting the Witch Trials Memorial , stop at the PICKMAN HOUSE one of the oldest houses in Salem to listen the interesting stories about this location.

    the Memorial is surrounded on three sides by a handcrafted granite wall. Inscribed in the stone threshold entering the Memorial are the victims’ protests of innocence. Benches within the Memorial perimeter bear the names and the execution dates of each of the 20 victims.

  • The Witch House at Salem

    The Witch House was the home of Jonathan Corwin (1640-1718), uncle of High Sheriff George Corwin. It is the only extant building with direct ties to the Salem Witch Trials. Jonathan Corwin served on the court of Oyer and Terminer that convicted the witches. Roger Williams also lived in the house before founding Providence Plantation (Rhode Island). The house was moved 11 meters from its past location to accommodate road widening in the 1940s.
