Best Roman History tour ever!

A very interesting tour with an amazing and concise history of Rome’s first 800 years. Marcelo was so knowledgeable and able to share that knowledge in an interesting and engaging fashion.
Amazing tour of Roman history with Marcello!

We booked a tour with Marcello the morning before our entry to the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill, and we are very glad we did. He was able to bring together the story of Rome through nearly 3000 years of history, from its beginnings as a small city state, through to its peak of the Roman empire. The decline in the middle ages through to its position in the modern day. He also wove into the story the knowledge of how to read ancient Roman structures. Where does that marble come from? Why are there holes in the monuments? Even the rocks we sat on at one stop were remnants of important buildings. This was great even after the tour as we could learn so much more about each historic site. Highly recommend booking the Rise of Rome tour with Marcello!
