Great Kayak tour from Ålesund out off the harbor around some small islands with stunning views on the mountains. Antonin introduced us to the right technique, gave us equipment like dry suits and shared some historic stories. Also, he took great photos of us and shared further tips for hikes. We enjoyed the activity a lot and would recommend it.

We had the best time!! We booked put trip through P&O at a very competitive price. We were met at the ship by our guide Gary, who was great fun, then went to the activity office to get kitted out. We were given a dry suits and shoes, so there is no need to worry about getting your clothes wet. Just dress warmly. There are lockers to pop big bags and coats, so there no need to worry about that either. Kev joined us in the sea, and his story and instructions were interesting and clear. I have done activity in the UK like this before but this was by far superior. We had the best time, and I would highly recommend it.

We had a great couple of hours on the water with Olivia and Alejandro as our guides. My husband and I were in a two person kayak which worked out well. The back person steered with the foot pedals controlling a rudder at the back. We were in a group of 4- two person kayaks. With an odd number of guests, one guide shared a two person kayak and the other had her own single kayak. We paddled through the canal and out into the area of the nearest barrier islands. The group gathered several times for the guides to tell us history of the city of Ålesund, information about the fishing industry, history of the archipelago with Viking history and information about travel and commerce throughout time. Olivia’s family is from near the area, and she was able to add personal details of how the city has changed. We also saw many sea birds and a seal swimming in the water. They did a great job of keeping the group together with adequate breaks for information. I would definitely take this again.

Thank you so much for your detailed and wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you had a great time kayaking in Ålesund with Olivia and Alejandro. Exploring the city and surrounding islands from the water offers a unique perspective, and it’s great to know you enjoyed both the paddling and the storytelling along the way. It’s especially nice to hear that the historical insights — from Viking heritage to modern fishing industry and commerce — added value to the experience. Olivia will surely appreciate that you mentioned her personal connection to the area; those local stories often make the experience even more meaningful. Seeing sea birds and even a seal is always a bonus! We also appreciate your comments about group size and pacing. Keeping the experience personal, safe, and informative is very important to us, particularly in small groups like yours. Thank you again for recommending the tour — we would love to welcome you back to Ålesund for another adventure on the water.
